Math Placement Information

At Evergreen Middle School, one of our goals is correct placement of students in math. We are offering three dates for your Choice Enrolled student to be placed properly for next fall, and to have his or her scheduling information as accurate as possible when school begins. If your student is coming as a 6th grader from one of our traditional feeder elementary schools (Bergen, Wilmot or Parmalee) they will test there in their regular 5th grade classroom so there is no need to attend one of these testing dates. If your student attended any other elementary or middle school, regardless of physical residence and regular attendance area school, your student will need to come to EMS for the testing.

The 5th to 6th grade math test is approximately one hour long. Your student may come on April 19th at 4:00 pm prior to our Future Rams Night events. Two additional after school times, Tuesday, April 24th at 3:30 pm or Wednesday, April 25th at 3:30 pm, are also available for this testing.  Please RSVP to with your student's name, grade and which date he or she will attend.  You may also email questions to me at that email as well.

If your student is coming to EMS as a 7th or 8th grader, they will need to complete a math placement test as well. They may attend any of these dates or times. The test for these students is a little longer than an hour so please plan for 90 minutes.  Also, RSVP to me so I know to expect your student.

Your student will need to bring something to write with (wooden or mechanical pencil), and something to do when they complete the test in case they are done early. No calculators will be needed. They may have a cell phone in their possession to reach you, but will be asked to turn it off during the testing.
