Counselor for All 7th Grade and 6th Grade A-K

About Mr. Major:
This is my 9th year at EMS and I love being a Ram! Prior to working at EMS, I was a school counselor at another middle school in Denver and, before that, I was a paraprofessional in Jeffco.

Although I was born in Virginia, I grew up in Colorado Springs, so I am almost a Colorado native. I have a degree in Psychology and a master's in School Counseling. I also have a Master of Arts in Teaching in Biology.

Outside of working at EMS, I volunteer at the Denver Zoo and I was a volunteer leader for Young Life for many years. I love being outdoors and I love nature and wildlife photography (birds of prey are my favorite). I like to play disc golf and ultimate Frisbee and I love going to baseball games (go Rockies). I love to travel and I have taken EMS students to Costa Rica, Belize, Ecuador and the Galapagos, and on rafting trips in Utah & Oregon. I am an International Exchange Coordinator and host family for high school exchange students. So, even though I don't have my own children, I have exchange students from Germany, Spain, Norway, Denmark, Italy, and Sweden. My other "child" is my cat, Calypso.

I am looking forward to another great school year at EMS!

About Mrs. Wrinn:

This is my 2nd year at EMS. I am very excited to join the EMS team!  Prior to working at EMS, I was a school counselor at Evergreen High School for 10 years. I am passionate about supporting students' academic, personal-social and career needs. Life can be challenging from time to time and helping students develop coping skills is one part of my job I enjoy the most. Another is helping students find confidence in who they are. It is an honor to be a trusted adult and support EMS students and families.

Outside of work, I love hiking, taking walks with my dog and watching the sunshine with a good cup of coffee. I also enjoy kicking up my feet from time to time for a good TV binge watching session. I am excited to meet all my students and families. Here’s to a great 2023-24 school year!
